Mitt Romney decided to put his unwanted two cents into the Alabama senate race by denouncing Judge Roy Moore as a man lacking honor and integrity. Romney’s condemnation of Moore was a back door plug for Moore’s democrat opponent and Planned Parenthood advocate, Doug Jones.
Romney, the man who lost two presidential runs, once in the GOP primary race and the other in the general election, can’t seem to comprehend the reality that the establishment GOP powerhouses are running out of fuel. He struggles for relevance.
Not only did Romney venture out of his cozy lifestyle to take a swing at Moore, but he unwittingly set himself up to be knocked off his feet by the brilliant conservative strategist Steve Bannon, who was standing in the shadows ready to take Mitt to task.
After tweeting that Judge Moore would put a stain on the United States Senate and that Moore’s accusers were heroes, Romney was met with a wrath of indignation by Steve Bannon.
The indignant Bannon unleashed on Romney, and he made his verbal attack personal. Addressing an audience at a Moore rally, Bannon stated, “Judge Moore is a graduate of the United States Military at West Point. Judge Moore served his country in one of the toughest wars we ever had, in Viet Nam. That’s honor and integrity, Mitt. And while we’re on the subject of honor and integrity, you avoided service, brother.”
Bannon, still incensed with the arrogance of Mitt Romney and his sheltered lifestyle, turned the attention to Romney’s family as well. “Mitt, Mitt! Here’s how it is, brother. The college deferments….we can debate that….but you hid behind your religion. You went to France to be a missionary while guys were dying in rice paddies in Viet Nam. DO NOT TALK TO ME ABOUT HONOR AND INTEGRITY!”
Bannon continued, “And now I’m going to get personal. You ran for commander-in-chief. You had five sons. Not one day in Afghanistan or Iraq. We have 7000 dead and 52,000 casualties. Where were the Romneys during those wars? You want to talk about honor and integrity, brother? Bring it! Bring it here to Alabama. You have the guts to get on the stage with a man who served in Viet Nam, and you expect us to believe “honor and integrity”? Judge Roy Moore has more honor and integrity in his pinky finger than your whole family has in its whole DNA.”
Bannon went on to discuss Romney’s never-ending pity party. Romney has never been able to reconcile himself with the reality that Donald Trump, a man Mitt Romney despises, actually won the presidency while Romney was a two-time loser.
Romney has been trying to revive his political career, and he can’t get any traction. I wonder why, Mitt. Could it be that your establishment wing of the GOP is losing its grip?
Mitt Romney accuses Judge Moore of lacking honor and integrity. His hubris is astonishing as this is the man who stood on the debate stage with Barack Obama, just days following the Benghazi massacre of American men, and Romney didn’t even bother mentioning the attack.
Barack Obama and his administration had been responsible for the deaths of these men by denying repeated requests for extra security prior to the attack and by denying the victims help during the attack with persistent commands to the rescue teams to “stand down.” They lied about a video being the catalyst for the attack.
But Romney didn’t feel it necessary to question Obama as to his lack of “honor and integrity.” He gave Obama a pass on what was a despicable act of gross malfeasance and most probably allowing the deaths as a means to a coverup.
Romney let the death of the Benghazi men slide, but he believes that Judge Moore’s accusers, most whom have been proven to be lying, are heroes.
It is oh so obvious that Mitt Romney doesn’t even understand the concept of honor and heroism.
Suck it up, Mitt. Your days in the political world are over. Your consolation prize is your Twitter account. You can release your frustration with the little people as you spend your golden years trying to figure out why you never won the presidency. Just maybe it’s because you are the one who has no honor.
But the good news is that you still have your silver spoon. You were born with it, and you will die with it. You don’t need to worry about little things like honor and integrity.
